What's Open in Berlin on a Monday?

Museum Island — all of it. The island's museums open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–18:00. (The Pergamonmuseum is closed for renovation on every day of the week.)

The Gemäldegalerie and the Neue Nationalgalerie at the Kulturforum, both open Tuesday to Sunday.

The Museum für Naturkunde, open Tuesday to Sunday.

Charlottenburg Palace, open Tuesday to Sunday; the palace garden is a separate matter and opens daily.

The documentation centre and viewing platform at the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Straße. The outdoor memorial itself stays open daily from 08:00 to 22:00.

The Jewish Museum Berlin — with a caveat. The official Berlin.de register lists it as open Tuesday to Sunday, while some tourism listings still show it open daily. MEVAYA plans the conservative reading and treats it as closed on Mondays until the conflict is resolved.

The Reichstag Dome: daily 08:00–24:00, last admission 21:45, with free registration required in advance. It closes for cleaning on scheduled dates, so check your date.

The Berlin Cathedral: Monday to Friday 09:00–18:00, last admission an hour before closing.

The TV Tower: open daily — 09:00–23:00 from March to October, 10:00–23:00 from November to February — with timed-entry tickets.

The Topography of Terror: daily 10:00–20:00, no closing day, free entry.

The DDR Museum: daily 09:00–21:00, last admission 20:00; booking ahead is strongly recommended.

Panoramapunkt at Potsdamer Platz: daily, with shorter hours in winter.

Markthalle Neun: the hall is open Monday to Saturday.

And every open-air site: the Brandenburg Gate, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, the East Side Gallery, the Tiergarten and Tempelhofer Feld are public spaces with no ticket and no closing day.

The schedule above uses only stops that are open on Mondays. It keeps the classic morning — the Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust memorial — then replaces Museum Island with the Topography of Terror and Checkpoint Charlie, which sit a short walk apart. After lunch near Hackescher Markt, the Cathedral and the TV Tower are both open on Mondays and within walking distance.

The whole route is walkable, about 5.7 km in total. The Topography of Terror opens at 10:00; arriving just before 11:00 means no waiting. As always, times are calculated from typical visit lengths and real walking distances, not guessed.

Put the closed-on-Monday museums on another day and use Monday for the Reichstag, the Wall sites and the outdoor centre. If you have only a Monday, the route above is the fullest version of Berlin that day allows.
